10791-A "Big Stik' at 100" under construction by
Gary, Gary jr. and Mike of Ontario Canada. The 1st picture
shows a 13 x 8 APC prop for comparison. These are really large
birds and go together really fast. You have around 2000 Square inches
of wing surface and at that size with a 19 lb weight will give you 23
oz. of loading on the wing. We have changed the plans and are using
door skins for the body and they will be tail draggers instead of Tricycle
gear. I figure a weight of 15lbs. for the planes. Giving us a plane
with 18oz. wing loading. A real glider.
A Team effort was put into these 3 birds and they could be built in a month of evenings.
One plane could be built in as little as a week of holidays due to ease
of construction. But the wife's still want things done also. More pictures
as time goes on.
