I have know Mike since 1996 when I found his Web pages on the net. I have since ordered many kits from him ranging from the 95" wing Canadair CL-215, 83" F6F Hellcat, 72" Mig-3 and Down to the last kits of the three 100" Stiks for training on. I think in total about 9 kits. Every time I have receive what was asked for in good time and of quality wood. I like scratch building more then the new ARF's that are out for many reasons. One being you know how and who built the kit.. I have nothing against ARF's but there is a little pride in building your own airplane. In short these are hand cut kits that fit as well as laser cut kits.
Thanks: Mike

Hi Michael,
Last year I bought a kit from you for a Don Smith "Tony". Let me
say that kit is absolutely beautiful! I also bought a set of plans for a
Macchi 202 that were the build up plans that the fiberglass IMP kit were
developed from. I am now ready to start on this plane. Can you still
sell me the fiberglass parts and canopy that go with this plane. I have
given up on ever getting anything from IMP ( The accessories they said
they would sell for the built up version). Its too bad about them, they
had some interesting products.
Best Regards,
Paul Marshall

Dear Mr. Neil
The S-6B kit that you cut out for us is absolutely beautifully done. I can honestly say that its quality is twice as good as a regular kit. Thank you for your efforts! We will keep you notified as to how it turns out.

Michael, Confirming delivery of packages 3 of 3 and 2 of 3 so far. I did pull out the spar box ply pieces and some of the wing ribs and am indeed happy with what I see so far. I was thinking of bringing some of the nicer pieces to our club show and tell and possibly spreading the word of you and your service. Of course I will not lead them to believe that any kits they contract for will be done as quick as mine but will let them know that turnaround is very reasonable. Maybe a complimentary model "Z" Gee Bee will be next in line as I have the fiberglass and plans for it already. I will surely keep you apprised of the progress! Sincerely, Patrick Mercado.

I thought I should let you know how satisfied I am with the quality of your work. Several months ago I took delivery of a Jerry Bates Bearcat kit from you. I would like to inquire about the Don Smith Lavochkin La-7 you have listed for $270. I am interested in ordering the kit and would like to have an idea regarding timeline of this kit. If it falls into my scheduling window, I would like to order it cut. Please let me know. Thanks, Jim. I very happy customer.

Michael,
Just a quick note to let you know the Dornier Kit has arrived safely at my in-laws house. My wife is in currently the States to join her family for the upcoming holidays and informed me of the news. I will be doing the same on the 14th of December, I can then fully appreciate your work. I am pleased to learn the kit is a new member of the family.
Many thanks for the efforts spent to manufacture the kit, I cannot express my gratitude enough. You are truly a world class kit supplier.
My sincerest thank you.

Just started to take the beast (F4F-3 Wildcat) out of the box, everything you cut looks great, all the parts are top notch and the wood is of excellent quality. The time you spent with me to get the right size blow-up (1/5.5 scale) and the time spent hashing out this complex airplane were very much appreciated, also the price was very fair for the amount of work you had to put into it. I can't wait to get started on it especially the landing gear !!!!
You can definitely count on me if I need another kit cut, this was great work. Thanks for everything. Respectfully,
David Engel

Re: Subject: Wildcat cowl dimensions 5/24/99
Mike,
Just received the plane Friday, I opened the box and was very impressed, the parts look great. I've been kind of busy so I have not been able to go over the parts maybe I can do that this week sometime. I don't think I will be able to start for a little while because I need to draw myself up a little instruction plan and also get an engine so I can set the motor mount in the right position. Probably will start with the tail feathers first, I can do these on a small work table and keep my other summer projects going at the same time. My club meets on the first Friday of the month and I would like to bring the kit in just the way you shipped it to show them what a fine job you have done. I will keep you informed on the progress of this project but I expect that this plane is going to take me sometime, but you never no, when the leaves start to fall I really get into building mode, flying and rebuilding stops and construction rules!!!!! Thanks again you can be sure I will recommend you to my club members and friends Dave

Michael, I received the plane Thursday, and already have the fuselage and port and center wing panels framed up. You really did a great job cutting and shaping the fuselage ribs, and the wood all looks like good quality. That's a nice change from some of the mass-produced kits I've built which had wood suitable mostly for making paper.
UPS and the plan drafter need some talking to, though. I'm not sure how they did it, but UPS managed to pierce and drag some hard , sharp object across and into the front of the box right in the center. Three of the 6" wide wing sheets were compressed and torn up but no other harm was done. I guess I'll just have to use the stock on either side of the tears on those. This is just one of several times I've had problems with UPS messing up a package for me in the last couple of years. The local Postal Office has a much better record with me with their Priority Package Express.
And the plan writer, oh the plan writer. Not showing all the wing rib cross sections was the least of his mistakes. The "typical" wing cross sections at the flaps and ailerons is just that. "Typical". All the actual ribs are either longer of shorter than the ribs drawn on the plan cross sections as "typical". Ugh. And now that I'm building the plane, there are several parts such as bulkheads where the wing section meets the fuselage (to keep the skin in the right shape at the joint), and some wing items that are not directly shown on the plans, but are implied. I'm shaping them to what I think he intended, but without having them actually drawn on the plan, I'm sort of just winging it (pun intended).
There's no way anyone could have seen the need to cut those parts without actually building the model. I have a feeling I'm going to run into some more of these implied parts as I build the vertical stab. That extra balsa stock you sent is perfect for making these parts; I appreciate your having thrown it in with the kit.
What I'll do is keep a log of stuff that should be changed or added if someone else wants that same plan kitted. I'll e-mail that log to you when I'm finished along with drawing for the "implied" parts. Thanks for cutting the kit so well, you did an exceptional job especially considering the marginal quality of the plans.
Sincerely,
Earle Sugar

From Sweden
Subj: Thomas S.P.A.D has arrived.

Dear Michel,
The kit for my S.P.A.D. C13 arrived today 17 September. I must say that I am very, very, very impressed!! When I sent the drawing to you I thought it was a bit of a gamble. Would I receive a box of incomplete, sloppy cut balsa pieces in either to hard or to soft balsa? There was no need to worry. Your kit included far more then I had ever expected! You have include raw material for every piece in the kit including hard to find extra large sheets of plywood etc. Even piano wire was included!
All the ribs and formers where excellent cut and then sanded to shape. Everything fit exactly over the drawing and the where no fuzzy edges or similar. In fact your kit is much better then a standard die-cut kit! All wood was exactly according to specification and I can see that you have taken great care in selecting the wood, nothing was to hard or to soft. There was nothing broken or bent, all sheets and sticks where strait. You can really be proud over your work!
On top of that I think your price is very competitive, and I doubt if anyone can beat you! Several of my friends have wondered how the kit was and I will recommend you without any hesitation. So perhaps you will get more customers from Sweden soon. Ii is even easier now when we have worked out how to send the kits. In fact I was so delighted with my S.P.A.D kit that I already have started to think about new projects that I would like you to cut for me in the future. THANKS
Thomas
